The Fox Float 40 GRIP2 HSC/LSC utilizes Fox’s GRIP technology. GRIP, FOX Isolated Technology: Air and oil do mix, and in the world of suspension, it degrades performance. Their isolation technology employs a bladder system that simply keeps the oil and air from mixing to provide optimal performance in all riding extremes.
The Float air spring system developed for 32, 34 and 40 is lighter and reduces the force to initiate travel, providing excellent sensitivity and small bump compliance for all riders and pressure settings.
The new FLOAT system features positive and negative air springs that automatically equalize during use to give each rider the right pressure balance. The progressiveness of the spring curve can be adjusted via air volume spacers, allowing riders to fine-tune the feel of the air spring.
´´Factory´´ says it all. The best-of-the-best technology we have to offer is available in our Factory Series models with our buttery smooth, and ultra durable Genuine Kashima Coat. These products are World Cup proven.
The 40 also comes with a proven HSC/LSC damper design offers unparalleled adjustment for every course, which allows you to create the perfect ride, no matter the terrain. The beefy 40mm stanchions dramatically reduce flex and are much sturdier than most stanchions.
To ensure that your travel is buttery smooth, Fox has added Kashima coating to the uppers. Kashima coating is a hard anodizing process that fills in micropores that may exist in the material, creating a smoother surface in comparison to a hard anodization on prior versions. Its distinctive gold color is backed by its high-performance attributes including extreme durability as well as an extremely smooth feel. The whole purpose and value of the Kashima coating is its friction reduction properties, while the aesthetic value is always a cherry on top.
The GRIP2 damper is Fox's next-evolution sealed cartridge FIT system, their highest performing gravity-focused damper. The new damper shares its roots with the original GRIP architecture, but has been seriously enhanced with all-new technology: 4-way adjustability, VVC high-speed rebound circuit, high-performance mid-valve, and overall friction-reducing treatments.
